For the moment we are set up with social distancing and self-catering stays in mind, until we are allowed to open for group stays and retreats. There are 2 metres between all loos, showers and kitchen areas. The Barns are open buildings, well ventilated and made from materials that are easily cleaned. Our cleaning team sanitise The Barns three times a day: morning, lunchtime and evening. We continue to follow the latest government advice, and kindly ask that all guests respect best practice: wearing masks in communal indoor areas, washing their hands regularly (hand wash and sanitiser is provided throughout the main barns) and respecting their distance to others.
We always recommend bringing lots of warm, waterproof clothing that dries easily, plus waterproof footwear. Bring warm layers for the day and especially for night, as it can get chilly – multiple pairs of warm socks are a must. A head torch and/or torch would be useful, too.
Wellies or walking boots are absolutely essential. We would recommend bringing a pair of slippers and/or thick socks to wear in your Bell Tent, as we kindly ask that you do not wear outdoor shoes inside our tents.
There is power supplied to The Barns for phone and laptop charging if necessary. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any personal items left unattended. We would recommend leaving your phone switched off!
The easiest way to find us is via the Google Maps link for Cabilla Cornwall here or on What3words with ‘romantics.galaxy.budget’. We recommend that you drive to us so you can explore the local area more easily. Plug PL30 4DW into your sat nav and follow the signs – you’ll find us. Or to reach us by train, our nearest station is Bodmin Parkway, where you can arrange for a taxi to bring you here.
There is ample space outside The Barns for you to park your vehicle.
Check in days are on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Please get in touch with any exceptions to this as we may be able to help! Check in time is between 3pm-5pm, check out is at 10am. Please check in at reception at The Barns when you arrive. There, you will be given a site map and shown to your Bell Tent or plot. Please check out in the same way. While we require you to vacate your tent or plot by 10am, you are welcome to enjoy the site for the rest of the day.
For bookings at The Keep you will receive separate directions and instructions, check in and check out times are the same.
We are a cash-free site. You can pay by card or Apple Pay only.
As a self-catering site, we encourage you to bring your own food. There are local farm shops nearby. Plus, there are local shops in Bodmin, just a 20-minute drive away.
We have everything that you need on site: pots, pans, plates, cutlery, kettles, the lot!
We have fridges and cupboards for you to store any food. Please bring your own containers to keep food in. We accept no responsibility for Cornish piskies that may move things in the night!
Hand wash and hand sanitiser are provided in the communal areas. For all other toiletries (such as shampoo, shower gel, etc), please bring your own – we are working to provide these in the future.
We provide Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels for guests staying in Bell Tents and The Keep only.
Retreat bookings must pay a minimum 50% deposit to secure their dates in the calendar. This deposit is non refundable.
Private bookings (bell tents / PYO), our cancellation policy offers a 100% refund if you cancel 7 days or more before your stay. A 50% refund will be given if you cancel between 7 days and 48 hours before your stay, while full payment will be taken if you cancel less than 48 hours before you’re due to arrive.
Please get in touch if you would like to book as a group. We organise group stays for wellness, yoga, and corporate groups wishing to restore their mindset in a wild space. We do not accommodate hen or stag parties.
Please note that guests must be over the age of 5 to stay at Cabilla and in the pitch your own area of the site only. Under 16’S are not permitted in The Glade. Also, any child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (18+).
Sadly we cannot accommodate dogs or other pets due to the nature of the ecological restoration we are trying to achieve and livestock on the farm.
We ask that guests refrain from smoking inside any tents, communal indoor areas or anywhere that may disturb and hinder the stay of others. We also respectfully ask guests to dispose of cigarette stubs appropriately, so as not to affect our woodland. We don’t have a license to sell alcohol at the moment, but you are welcome to bring your own to drink on site in moderation. We retain the right to ask you to stop drinking if inappropriate behaviour occurs.
You can purchase firewood and charcoal at reception to build fires in the designated areas provided by our pitches and Bell Tents. Please manage and dispose of your fire appropriately. Please do not leave your fire unattended at any point.
